MARKETING STRATEGIES FOR YOUR CHURCH ⛪
Should Your Church Leave Social Media?

Social media is not a monologue, it's a two-way conversation.

Once upon a time, social media sent loads of visitors to websites... but times have changed.

Social media sites now aim to keep people on their platforms longer, and the rules governing post visibility in feeds are constantly evolving.

What's popular on social media today might not be tomorrow.

You might wonder if investing time, money, and energy in social media is worthwhile.

Here are some tips on managing your church's social media presence effectively:

  1. Focus on What You Can Control: It may be best to concentrate on your email newsletter, your website, and even your SMS list. This strategy allows you to connect with your audience even if they don't follow you on social media.

  2. Choose the Best Platform: Determine where most of your audience is. Are they on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, etc.? Focus on engaging your audience on those platforms.

  3. Do What Works: Instead of trying to post many times a day on social media, aim for higher engagement with fewer, more impactful posts. If one great post a day works best, then stick to that.

  4. Do Something Different: Tailor your content for each social media platform. What works on one platform may not work on another.

  5. Consider Leaving a Platform: If a social media platform's practices don't align with your values, it's okay to leave. It's essential to connect with your audience through other means, like your newsletter. When deciding to leave, there’s no need to make an announcement—simply stop posting.

  6. Team Meetings: Regular check-in meetings with your team are crucial for refining your social media strategies.

  7. Keep Your Audience on Social Media: Keeping your audience engaged on social media platforms is beneficial, as opposed to directing them to other websites.

  8. Use Paid Ads to Expand Your Audience: Paid ads are an effective way to attract more followers to your social media pages, making it easier for people to discover your church.

Social media is an investment. It takes time, effort, and resources to build a successful social media presence. But the rewards can be great, including increased brand awareness, improved customer engagement, and higher sales.

In conclusion, it's about being strategic with how and where you spend your time and money on social media.

Wise use of resources can yield significant benefits for your church's online presence.
